An American lawman and hero of the Wild West. Sailor Moon claimed even if Earp forgave Mimete and U-Estern for attacking the set of The Akafuji Gunman, she wouldn't. (112)
Edward
Edwards spent most of his life as a successful but ruthless businessman, making a fortune but winning few friends, and apparently alienating his family. Now living alone in his Tokyo mansion, he eventually realised that without a family or friends, he had no way of passing anything on to future generations, rendering his success meaningless. So Edwards became a philanthropist, assisting promising students whom he hoped would create a better future. His mansion became the venue for regular parties, attended by both Japanese and foreign students. He became acquainted with Chiba Mamoru, as well as foreign students George and Ned. Visiting Mamoru to announce another one of his parties, Edwards also invited Tsukino Usagi, Mizuno Ami, Hino Rei, Kino Makoto and Aino Minako. Kaioh Michiru and Tenoh Haruka were invited as performers, playing the violin and piano respectively. However, the party was infiltrated by Eudial, who incapacitated most of the guests with an anaesthetic gas and removed Edwards' Pure Heart Crystal with her Capture Gun. However, Sailor Neptune intercepted the crystal and determined that it was not a talisman. The crystal was retuned to Edwards, and despite the disruption, the party eventually resumed. (108) This character is not to be confused with the similarly named Edward (see entry above). Strangely, both of the Sailor Moon S Nakayoshi Guides refer to Edwards as 'Edward', but this seems to be a mistake: not only is the name clearly pronounced 'Edwards', it also appears as such on Eudial's computer screen.
A song performed by Hino Rei during her concert at the TA Culture Festival. (054) The title translates as "Eternal Melody". The song appeared on "In Another Dream", the second Sailor Moon soundtrack album.
Einstein, AlbertThe most famous physicist of the twentieth century and the originator of the Theory of Relativity. Sailor Moon mentioned Einstein as a genius valuable to human society. (008)
A cram school attended by Umino Gurio, located on a Negative Point. The point was discovered by Esmeraude, who planted a Dark Henge on it. The Droid Giwaku was left to guard it, while the school and its inhabitants were infected with Dark Power. Umino and the other students became antisocial and suspicious of others. Later, Mizuno Ami went to the cram school to investigate their behaviour and discovered the building to be full of Dark Power. She transformed into Sailor Mercury, not noticing Giwaku outside. While Sailor Mercury called the rest of the Sailor Team for help, Giwaku sent copies of herself after her. Sailor Mercury defeated the copies, so Giwaku changed tactics. When Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, and Sailor Venus entered the building, the Droid cast Sailor Mercury into an illusion, designed to make her believe that her friends had turned against her. She tried to use the same power against Sailor Moon, but she shrugged it off quickly. Sailor Mercury, too, was not fooled by the illusions, and turned against Giwaku. With the Droid weakened, Sailor Moon destroyed her along with the Dark Henge. (080)
An attack used by the Daimon U-Baulla. She extended her arms and was able to reach around enemies with her hands, constricting them. This manoeuvre was used to trap Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi Moon. (116)
A baby supply store that Tsukino Usagi and Chiba Mamoru looked in while they were taking care of Manami. (053)
Years later, Endymion was caught in the Black Moon Clan's surprise attack on the city. He was seriously injured, but was still able to communicate as a psychic projection. After Chibi Usa fled to the past, his first action was to haunt the twentieth century Chiba Mamoru and Tsukino Usagi with nightmares as a test to their relationship. While Tuxedo Kamen was lost in the Space-Time Corridor, Endymion communicated with him again, guiding him to safety. Eventually, the Sailor Team and Tuxedo Kamen arrived in the thirtieth century and were greeted by King Endymion's psychic projection. He guided them to the Crystal Palace and explained the circumstances surrounding the Black Moon Clan's attack. He also revealed to Sailor Moon that she was destined to become Neo-Queen Serenity and give birth to Chibi Usa. (083) While the Sailor Team protected the palace from the Esmeraude Dragon, Endymion remained inside. However, he soon discovered that Chibi Usa had disappeared. (084) Sailor Pluto detected Chibi Usa travelling into the past, at which point Endymion parted company with the Sailor Team, who returned to their own time to find her. (085) He was eventually reunited with his daughter after Sailor Moon and Chibi Usa used the Silver Crystals to defeat Wiseman. Sailor Moon's use of her Silver Crystal caused Neo Queen Serenity to wake up and restore Crystal Tokyo to its previous state, healing Endymion and allowing Chibi Usa to return. (088)
Endymion was reincarnated on present day Earth as Chiba Mamoru. Initially, he remembered nothing of his past life, but the repressed memories eventually surfaced and triggered his transformations into Tuxedo Kamen. As Tuxedo Kamen, he was driven to find the Silver Crystal and to protect Sailor Moon, who was, unbeknownst to him, the reincarnation of Princess Serenity. (019, 022, 035) When Tuxedo Kamen was mortally wounded and kidnapped by the Dark Kingdom, Queen Metalia used dark energy to revive him. Upon regaining consciousness, he believed himself to be Endymion once again. Now, however, he was allied to the Dark Kingdom, and pursued Sailor Moon in order to retrieve the Silver Crystal. Metalia was highly protective of the prince, and immediately withdrew him from battle if he appeared to be in danger. (036) Kunzite resented Endymion's presence, and the two men refused to cooperate, often sabotaging each other's plans. Endymion was also impeded by his repressed feelings towards Sailor Moon, which sometimes surfaced briefly, just for long enough to give the Sailor Senshi the upper hand. He was also intent on protecting innocent bystanders from harm whilst searching for the Silver Crystal. (038, 039) He was instructed to release the Lake Monster made famous by the story of the Legendary Lovers, but realised too late that he was unable to control it and worked with the Sailor Senshi to defeat it. By this time, Beryl and Kunzite had grown suspicious of Endymion's actions, and Kunzite was ordered to observe his movements. (040) Queen Beryl then gave Endymion the Black Crystal, telling him to abduct the former holders of Rainbow Crystals and unite them to form a supremely powerful Youma. He succeeded in capturing Crane Game Joe, the priest, Rhett Butler, Nishimura Reika, Yumeno Yumemi and Urawa Ryou, but his plan was interrupted by the Sailor Senshi, and the crystal was destroyed by Sailor Mercury. In the midst of the confusion, Sailor Moon used Moon Healing Escalation to undo the effects of the brainwashing, and Mamoru's personality began to return. This was only temporary, however, as he was immediately reclaimed by the Dark Kingdom, and the process of brainwashing was started all over again. (041) When Sailor Moon entered the Dark Kingdom, Beryl commanded Endymion to kill her. Sailor Moon was not able to restore Mamoru's personality as she had done before, and was forced to attack him. Driven by Metalia's power, he continued the attack, and was only stopped when Sailor Moon showed him the Orgel she had been given by Tuxedo Kamen- identical to the one he had received from Serenity. This triggered the return of Mamoru's memories, and he turned on Queen Beryl, seriously injuring her but receiving lethal wounds in the process. Mamoru died with Sailor Moon by his side, but was later restored to life by the Silver Crystal. (046) Mamoru briefly adopted the form of Prince Endymion again whilst on Fiore's asteroid. He transformed into Endymion in order to assist Sailor Moon, who had become Princess Serenity. (SMR)
Esmeraude rejected Rubeus' tactics, and instead aimed to flood twentieth century Earth with the power of the Evil Black Crystal. To this end, she sought out Negative Points around Tokyo, planning to plan Dark Henges in them and create a Dark Gate. However, her plans were soon discovered by the Sailor Team. (076) After numerous failures, Esmeraude tried simultaneously nurturing two unusually powerful Dark Henges at Juuban Park and Juuban Municipal Primary School. Even this failed, however, and she prepared to take on the Sailor Team in a head to head battle. However, she was suddenly recalled by Dimande, after he and Wiseman observed the extent of Chibi Usa's power. (081) At this point, the Sailor Team travelled to the thirtieth century through the Space-Time Corridor, and it became clear, much to Esmeraude's horror, that Dimande was infatuated with Sailor Moon. She was ordered to attack the Sailor Team, but to bring back Sailor Moon and Chibi Usa unharmed. Esmeraude planned to have her Droid kill Sailor Moon anyway, but in the event, the Droid was defeated. (082) Later, when Dimande successfully kidnapped Sailor Moon, Esmeraude went as far as sending a storm of Dark Power to aid her escape, such was her desire to keep them apart. (083) Esmeraude eventually turned to Wiseman for assistance. In the clan's base outside Crystal Tokyo, she asked to be given enough power to destroy the Crystal Palace, winning Dimande's favour for good. Wiseman told her that, with the assistance of the Evil Black Crystal, she could be more powerful than Neo Queen Serenity and become Dimande's queen. He gave her a tiara made from Evil Black Crystal, which greatly increased her power. However, the power overwhelmed her, and she realised Wiseman had betrayed her. She was transformed into a monstrous being, the Esmeraude Dragon, which attacked the Crystal Palace. Tuxedo Kamen and Sailor Moon eventually shattered the dragon's tiara, and Esmeraude briefly reappeared before perishing along with her dragon alter ego. (084) Droids used by Esmeraude were: Marzipan (076), Udering (077), Pharmakon (078), Dogba (079), Giwaku (080), Chiral, Achiral (081) and Ryuax. (082)
Eternal SleepAn extreme form of punishment handed out by Queen Beryl, in which the victim is forever sealed in a block of crystal, never to awaken. This was the fate that Jadeite met, after failing to defeat the Sailor Senshi. (013) Nephrite was also threatened with this punishment. (019)
Eudial was contacted by Professor Tomoe Souichi after Kaolinite was defeated at Tokyo Tower, and was instructed to take Kaolinite's place. (102, 103) Eudial responded with a series of suggestions on how the process of creating Daimons could be improved. Tomoe acted on this advice, and soon the Daimon production process was automated. (103) Now charged with collecting Pure Heart Crystals, Eudial adopted a radically different approach to that of her predecessor. Her victims were selected by computer, and she pursued them in a Station Wagon. Her Daimons, which were packaged in Daimon Cases and loaded into her vehicle from a conveyor belt, were for purely defensive purposes: Eudial preferred to remove Pure Heart Crystals via her own method, the Capture Gun. (103) Despite preferring to travel by car, Eudial was a bad driver, and often left unintentional destruction in her wake. (104) While attempting to steal the Pure Heart Crystal of Aino Minako, Eudial witnessed Tenoh Haruka and Kaioh Michiru transforming into Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune. She also took on Sailor Moon with her own invention, the Fire Buster, an advanced flamethrower that succeeded in deflecting Moon Spiral Heart Attack. Although the weapon was damaged by Sailor Venus and Eudial was forced to withdraw, she boasted that she now knew the identities of Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune. (109) Despite this progress, Eudial was disturbed to hear that her position at the head of the Witches 5 was under threat from Mimete, who had been summoned to speak with the professor. She redoubled her effort to locate the talismans, modifying her computer and working over a holiday in a desperate effort to win back the professor's favour. To her surprise, the modifications worked, and her computer identified Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune as holders of two of the talismans. She contacted Haruka, informing her that she had found the owner of a talisman, and inviting her to meet her at the Marine Cathedral. She then set up a series of elaborate traps in the cathedral, in preparation for their arrival. When Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune entered the building, Eudial attacked them with a set of rapidly-moving stone slabs. Eventually, she managed to trap Sailor Neptune in one of the slabs, and transported her to the main hall. She then informed Sailor Uranus that her partner was the holder of a talisman. When Sailor Uranus entered the main hall, she was fired upon by gun emplacements fixed around the chamber by Eudial. As Eudial approached Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune struggled free of her bonds and tried to attack her. Eudial reacted by shooting Sailor Neptune with the Capture Gun, removing the Deep Aqua Mirror from her. However, before she could reach the talisman, Tsukino Usagi charged into the hall and knocked Eudial into a pit. Meanwhile, Sailor Uranus used the Capture Gun on herself, releasing the Space Sword and entrusting the talismans to Sailor Moon. (110) Eudial quickly recovered, and attacked the Sailor Team with her modified weapon, the Fire Buster II. She managed to steal the two talismans and attempted to escape, but the Sailor Team soon gave chase. In a showdown with Sailor Moon, the Fire Buster II proved to be stronger than Moon Spiral Heart Attack, but the battle was interrupted by Meioh Setsuna, who demanded that Eudial surrender the talismans. When she refused, Setsuna transformed into Sailor Pluto and revealed that the third talisman - the Garnet Orb - was already in her possession. Using the Garnet Orb, she drew the other talismans away from Eudial and removed Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune's Pure Heart Crystals from them. The two Sailor Senshi then materialised in the chamber, re-absorbed their Pure Heart Crystals and took hold of their talismans. The combined energy of the three talismans caused the Holy Grail to appear. Eudial fired the Fire Buster II again and attempted to grab the Holy Grail, but Sailor Moon beat her to it and was transformed into Super Sailor Moon. Eudial tried to attack again, but Super Sailor Moon easily deflected the blast, sending Eudial crashing out of the building with the recoil. Overpowered, Eudial decided to withdraw and drove off in her Station Wagon. However, Mimete had sabotaged the vehicle, removing the brakes. As Mimete came over the radio, informing her that she was no longer required, Eudial collided with a barrier outside the cathedral and crashed into the sea, with apparently fatal consequences. (111) Eudial's computer software was occasionally used by Mimete to find targets. (116) Mimete also used Eudial's abandoned Witches Electric Warp in a last-ditch attempt to defeat the Sailor Team, but was killed before she could exploit her new powers. (120) Daimons used by Eudial were: Soiya (103), Chagama (104), Irondar, Daruma (105), Hurdler (106), Chokokkar (107) and Chikuon (108) and Doorknobdar (109).
A brand of convertible sports car, manufactured by Mazda. Kameda was working on one such car in Tuning Service Kameda Motor, when a Daimon Egg attached itself to the vehicle and created the Daimon Steering. After attacking Kameda and taking his Pure Heart Crystal, the monster was defeated by Sailor Moon, and turned back into a car. (092)
A substance that was the main power source of the Black Moon Clan's attack on Crystal Tokyo. (075) Controlled by the Evil Black Crystal Reactor on Nemesis, it represented an opposing force to the Silver Crystal, and at close range was able to neutralise the Silver Crystal's powers. (083, 084) The crystal was incredibly powerful, but Wiseman warned that while the Silver Crystal still existed, the Evil Black Crystal was still vulnerable. A large column of the crystal was present in Prince Dimande's command headquarters, and the material was also used in the earrings worn by many members of the clan. (075) In this form it was naturally attracted to areas containing negative energy. (076) Apparently the crystal possessed some form of sentience, as it controlled the spectral Droid Jakoku who had been sent to attack Chibi Usa in her dreams. (075) Esmeraude planned to flood twentieth century Earth with the Evil Black Crystal's power, but she first need to open more Dark Gates between the two time periods. She planted Dark Henges in Negative Points around Tokyo, hoping to expand them enough to create new Dark Gates. However, the Sailor Team often intervened and destroyed the Dark Henges. (076) Saphir, in charge of the crystal's reactor, eventually grew concerned about the raw power it was producing. He worried that Dimande did not realise the amount of damage the crystal could cause. (084) Dimande, meanwhile, went to twentieth century Juuban with Black Lady and planted a fragment of the crystal there. Nurtured by Black Lady's power, it grew very quickly, in preparation for the formation of a Dark Gate, through which Dimande intended to fire the full power of the crystal. (085) Soon the crystal was so huge that the city began to be evacuated. Meanwhile, Saphir supervised the crystal's main body on Nemesis. He was shocked to hear Wiseman plotting against him and his brother, and realised the plan had to be stopped. He removed a vital card from the reactor, powering it down. Wiseman noticed him and attacked, wounding Saphir. Saphir fled to the twentieth century, intending to speak to his brother, but Wiseman got there first, informing Dimande that his brother had turned traitor. The injured Saphir attempted to tell Dimande about what he had heard, but was killed by Wiseman before he had the chance. Wiseman took back the reactor's card and the plan resumed. (086) After Tuxedo Kamen failed to return from his investigation of the giant crystal fragment, the Sailor Team decided to enter it. Using Sailor Teleport, they transported themselves into its core. However, Sailor Moon fell through a portal inside the crystal and landed in a chamber with Dimande. Dimande attempted to hypnotise her into declaring allegiance to him, but she resisted and instead managed to convince him that Wiseman was betraying the clan. Wiseman appeared to refute the allegations, but Dimande was already convinced, and a battle between the former allies ensued. Dimande was killed, while Wiseman survived and attempted to kill Sailor Moon. He was interrupted by the arrival of Tuxedo Kamen and the rest of the Sailor Team, but declared that it was too late anyway: the Dark Gate was now large enough, and the Evil Black Crystal was ready to fire. Wiseman vanished, and the Sailor Team hurried to the entrance of the Dark Gate, at the summit of the giant crystal fragment. (087) Black Lady intended to serve as a conduit for the crystal's growing power, poised at the mouth of the Dark Gate to channel the power down to Earth. However, Sailor Moon succeeded in transforming her back into Chibi Usa before she could carry this out. Wiseman resolved to send the energy through anyway, but Sailor Moon and Chibi Usa countered it with the energy of their respective Silver Crystals. The combined energy overwhelmed Wiseman, destroying him, and neutralised the Evil Black Crystal's main body on Nemesis. The giant fragment in Juuban shrank to nothing, and the Dark Gate collapsed with no power to support it. (088)
A machine located on Nemesis, connected to the main body of the Evil Black Crystal. The reactor regulated the crystal's power output, and was maintained by Saphir. (084) After Saphir realised that Wiseman was planning to betray the Black Moon Clan, he removed an access card from the reactor, shutting off the crystal's power output. He planned to consult Prince Dimande before proceeding, but was attacked by Wiseman. Saphir made it to the twentieth century to speak to his brother, but was killed by Wiseman before he got to say his piece. Wiseman retrieved the card and started the reactor again. (086) The machine was put permanently out of action after the Silver Crystals of the twentieth and thirtieth centuries overwhelmed the Evil Black Crystal, neutralising it. (088) |
