This example of the species once took root on a planet that was mostly covered in ocean. After remaining in solitude for many years, it created a race of humanoid beings. For generations, the Makaiju's children lived in peace, while their love for their progenitor was converted into the energy they needed to live. However, they eventually began to fight each other for more energy, and became gripped by hatred. The fighting escalated into a war that destroyed their native planet. The Makaiju survived by escaping into space, carrying the few survivors. However, the Makaiju's children still fought amongst themselves and no longer loved their creator. As a result, the tree was unable to provide them with energy, and with no alternative source of nutrition, the remaining occupants died. Only Ail and An, born after the tree had evacuated its home planet, were still alive. The Makaiju did its best to provide energy for the pair, although the effort meant it was no longer able to communicate with them. Ail and An grew up with a poor understanding of the Makaiju's nature, and instead of providing it with the love it needed, they became mercenaries, desperately obtaining energy by whatever means they could. (059) The Makaiju landed in Juuban in the form of a dense green mass, leaving a sizeable crater. Apparently unscathed by this, it floated up to the Juuban Odyssey apartment complex and entered the building. Once inside, the Makaiju occupied its own dimension, accessible from Ail and An's apartment, in which it was able to expand to its true size. (047) However, the Makaiju was now a shadow of its former self, bereft of the beautiful flowers it once bore. (051) Ail and An were dependent upon the tree for nourishment, but it soon became obvious that it was running out of energy. Fearing that it might die, Ail and An used Cardians to harvest energy from humans, leading to a series of encounters with Sailor Moon. (047) Ail and An's attempts to rejuvenate the tree became increasingly desperate as its state deteriorated. Eventually it began to exhibit odd behaviour, glowing red, while Cardians started disobeying orders. (057) A few days later, it underwent a drastic change, losing most of its foliage. Fearing the worse, Ail and An sent the Cardian Yamandakka to gather vast amounts of energy to rejuvenate the tree. However, the energy had no noticeable effects. The following day, Tsukino Usagi visited the apartment and looked into the room in which the Makaiju was kept. Its branches reached out and grabbed her, but she was freed by Ail, who assured her that he was studying cosmic botany, and the Makaiju was a sample. Usagi left, but later Mizuno Ami discovered a small section of the tree still stuck to her head. Luna and Artemis identified the matter as originating from a Makaiju. Meanwhile, Ail and An noticed that a healthy sprout had suddenly emerged from the tree. Ail instructed Yamandakka to flood the new sprout with energy. However, the sprout withered immediately upon receiving the energy. Ail and An decided that Usagi's energy must have special properties that allowed the tree to regenerate, and resolved to capture her. Later, Usagi came to visit with Chiba Mamoru, intent on investigating the Makaiju. While Ail distracted Mamoru, An pushed Usagi into the room with the Makaiju, where she was seized by Yamandakka and taken to the tree. As Yamandakka infused it with Usagi's energy, the tree howled in protest, eventually breaking out of the room and encompassing the whole apartment complex. (058) The remaining Sailor Team arrived at the building in order to rescue Usagi, and managed to evade the tree's defences as they fought their way to the top floor. They were confronted by Ail and An, who were desperately trying to release Usagi and Mamoru, respectively, from the tree's grip. Eventually the Makaiju let go of them, and Ail and An attacked the Sailor Team. Seeing this, Usagi transformed into Sailor Moon, an act which horrified Ail. As Sailor Moon tended to Mamoru, Ail and An realised the targets of their affection didn't love them back, and started attacking. Sailor Moon and Mamoru tried to protect each other, explaining to Ail and An that this was what love meant. Suddenly, the Makaiju began to writhe in fury, and turned against its children. Instinctively, An tried to shield Ail, and was stabbed and killed by one of the trees branches. Suddenly the Makaiju's conscious mind resurfaced, realising that it had killed its own child. It explained its origins and needs to Ail and Sailor Moon, revealing that it merely required the love of its occupants in order to function. It further explained that it was being corrupted by its own anger, and needed to be purified. Sailor Moon agreed, and used Moon Princess Halation to restore it to a seedling. As it regenerated, the tree restored An to life. Ail and An took the Makaiju seedling and left to raise it on a new planet. (059)

The Mandragora Buster is never named on-screen, but the second Sailor Moon S Nakayoshi Guide lists it as Tellu's main attack, and thus it is named here.
An attack used by the Daimon U-Henshuu. She threw razor-sharp sheets of manuscript which were able to pierce the ground. These sheets could also expand and trap an enemy underneath them. (113)
Marimo BallsAn aquatic species, Aegagropila, which is native to Lake Akan in Hokkaido. The Youma Akan used Marimo balls as weapons that trapped victims and expanded to suffocate them. (032)
A partially constructed cathedral built on reclaimed land off the coast of Tokyo. Eudial infiltrated the building and filled it with booby traps, in preparation for a battle with Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune. The lobby was lined with stone slabs that could be remotely manipulated by means of an adapted table football set. Eudial used one of these to capture Sailor Neptune, then transported her to the main hall. Sailor Uranus pursued her, but the walkway between her and her captured partner was lined with guns. She tried to cross the walkway, at which point the guns fired on her. Eudial, who had programmed the guns to fire on anybody but her, approached Sailor Uranus and prepared to remove her talisman. Sailor Neptune managed to break free, and despite the gunfire was able to make it over to Eudial. Eudial fired the Capture Gun at her, The blast forced the Deep Aqua Mirror from her body, but before Eudial could grab it, she was attacked by Tsukino Usagi and fell off the walkway. Realising that she also had a talisman in her body, Sailor Uranus used the Capture Gun on herself, releasing the Space Sword. (110) Eudial returned and grabbed both of the talismans, but was eventually caught and forced into a showdown with Sailor Moon. Although she initially had the upper hand, Sailor Pluto distracted her by producing the third talisman, the Garnet Orb, and using it to steal back the other two. She then revived Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune, who used the three talismans to form the Holy Grail. Both Sailor Moon and Eudial attempted to grab the artefact, but Sailor Moon succeeded. Using the Grail to transform into Super Sailor Moon, she easily deflected Eudial's attack, blasting her out of the building. (111)
Mars Power, Make UpThe original phrase used by Hino Rei to transform into Sailor Mars, using her first transformation pen. (010)
The second transformation phrase used by Hino Rei to transform into Sailor Mars, adopted after she received her second transformation pen. (063) This transformation was presumably first used off-screen in Episode 62, but it is first seen in the following episode.
Matsumoto TadaoA student of Juuban Municipal Junior High who was ranked 199th on the eighth grade midterm exams, with a score of 608 points. (027)
A student of Juuban Municipal Junior High School who came fourth in the eighth grade finals. (080)
Matsuno Hiromi
Hiromi was targeted by Nephrite whist working on Sailor V: The Movie. The twin Youma Castor and Pollux were implanted into her one remaining pencil, enhancing her competitiveness and causing her to work at an incredible rate. Kazuko noticed the sudden change in her personality, and Mizuno Ami, already suspicious that Nephrite had been lurking in the Studio Dive building, brought Tsukino Usagi and Hino Rei to investigate. Under the Youma's influence, Kazuko declared to the director and animation staff that she intended to kill off Sailor V in the movie's final scene. Shortly afterwards, her energy peaked, and Castor and Pollux were released from her pencil. After the monsters had been defeated, Hiromi admitted to Kazuko that she had used her share of the pencils because she was afraid of being overshadowed by her friend. Kazuko revealed that she had used her share of the pencils too, for precisely the same reason. According to Kazuko, Hiromi had a penchant for fried noodles. (021) Matsuno Hiromi was named after Sailor Moon key animator Matsushita Hiromi.
A Juuban cake shop located on a Negative Point. It celebrated its opening with an 'all you can eat' promotion. However, this coincided with Esmeraude's attempt to plant a Dark Henge on the store's Negative Point. Esmeraude summoned the Droid Marzipan to steal energy from the shop's customers, in order to charge up the Dark Henge. Marzipan disguised herself as a waitress, while Esmeraude contaminated the cakes with an agent that froze the customers in place. After Chiba Mamoru noticed the effects, a battle ensued between Marzipan and the Sailor Team. Sailor Moon eventually succeeded in destroying the Droid, also triggering the destruction of the Dark Henge. With the evil influence gone, the customers recovered, and Esmeraude was forced to retreat. (076)
Background: Nothing was known of Setsuna's past. She first appeared in Juuban shortly before Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune set out on their mission to the Marine Cathedral, when she encouraged Tsukino Usagi to help them. At this point, she was already aware of the true identities of all of the active Sailor Senshi. (110) She intervened in Eudial's showdown with Sailor Moon, transforming into Sailor Pluto and triggering the formation of the Holy Grail. She later joined forces with Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune in their search for the Messiah. (111) Setsuna disappeared from Earth during the final battle with the Death Busters, a direct result of her using her forbidden ability to stop time in order to save the lives of Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune. (124) It is not clear whether or not Meioh Setsuna is the real name of Sailor Pluto's civilian form. Given that she is apparently millennia old, it seems quite probable that Meioh Setsuna is simply a name assumed for convenience while operating In the twentieth century.

The second transformation phrase used by Sailor Mercury, after she received her second transformation pen from Luna and Artemis. (062)
The saviour capable of preventing the Silence, whom Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune hoped to find by bringing together the three Talismans. (096) According to legend, the Messiah possessed infinite power, and was capable of using the Holy Grail to destroy the forces of evil. When Super Sailor Moon proved able to harness the Grail's power, sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune suspected that she might be the Messiah. However, the fact that her power was so limited convinced them otherwise, and they and Sailor Pluto embarked upon a search for the true Messiah. (111) When Sailor Moon revealed her true power in a confrontation following the defeat of the Death Busters, Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune accepted that she was, in fact, the Messiah. However, even after they reached this conclusion, Sailor Moon was apparently not aware of it. (126)
as the Messiah of Silence's true form, Mistress 9, exerted control. (123) The Messiah of Silence was eventually defeated when Hotaru awoke as Sailor Saturn, expelling the intruder from her body. (125)
When the Dark Kingdom returned in the present day, Metalia had become weak and powerless. Queen Beryl ordered her minions to gather human energy with which they could revive their dormant leader. (001) Eventually, enough energy was gathered to awaken Metalia, although her power still remained extremely low. She commanded Beryl to retrieve the Silver Crystal, the one source powerful enough to restore her former power. (025) After Tuxedo Kamen was almost killed by Zoisite, Metalia revived him using her own power. Now under her influence, he assumed his former identity as Prince Endymion, and joined the fight to obtain the Silver Crystal, which was now in Sailor Moon's possession. Metalia was, however, extremely protective of Endymion, and would not place him in immediate danger. (036) Eventually, Metalia grew extremely powerful, her awakening coinciding with sunspots that triggered a series of natural disasters across the world. (045) She finally broke free from her cocoon when Queen Beryl, who had been badly injured in a fight to the death with Chiba Mamoru, appealed to her for the power she needed to defeat Sailor Moon. Metalia expanded, fusing with Beryl's physical form and becoming the gigantic Super Beryl. The entity rose to the surface to fight Sailor Moon, draining power from around the world to fuel he attack. However, Sailor Moon transformed into Princess Serenity, and with the help of the spirits of her comrades, used the Silver Crystal to its full extent. Super Beryl was annihilated along with the Dark Kingdom, while the Silver Crystal restored the Sailor Senshi and Mamoru to life. (046)

Midnight ZeroA late night romantic talk show unwittingly broadcast by FM No. 10. It was actually part of a Dark Kingdom scheme to collect energy. Jadeite presented the programme under the moniker J Dite, and distributed the show's trademark flower brooches to listeners who submitted letters. The plan was revealed by Sailor Moon, after she discovered that FM No. 10's staff had no knowledge of the show. (003)
The hospital at which Professor Tomoe Souichi recovered after he was freed from Germatoid's control. Tenoh Haruka and Kaioh Michiru visited the hospital to reunite the professor with his daughter, Tomoe Hotaru. (126) The name "Miharadai" is a best guess based on the kanji used: unusually for Sailor Moon, it does not appear to be a real place. There is a Miharadai in Nerima, but the kanji are different.
Meanwhile, a Daimon Egg found its way into Miharu's bedroom, where it fused with a jigsaw puzzle depicting a cat. When Miharu returned home, the jigsaw transformed into the Daimon Nekonneru. Miharu managed to escape, and got as far as the abandoned house before the Daimon caught up with her. Nekonneru began to extract Miharu's Pure Heart Crystal, despite the cats' efforts to protect her. Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Venus also intervened, but their attacks were deflected by the Daimon, and Miharu's crystal was removed. The Daimon was suddenly attacked by Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune, who examined the crystal, then returned it to Miharu. Nekonneru recovered, but was eventually destroyed by a powered-up Sailor Moon. Miharu apparently recovered from the incident, and Usagi suggested that she should give the cats to the Great Animal Kingdom. (091)
After she formed, she tracked down her victim, Hino Rei, and pinned her to a wall before she had the chance to transform. She began to remove her Pure Heart Crystal, but was interrupted by Sailor Moon, Mizuno Ami, Kino Makoto and Aino Minako. She threw Sailor Moon to one side with her hair and pinned the others to trees with fortune telling sticks. Tuxedo Kamen distracted her and told Sailor Moon to attack, but Moon Princess Halation failed to have any effect on the Daimon. Mikuji pinned Sailor Moon to a tree and bit down on the Crystal Star, eventually snapping it off. Sailor Moon's transformation reversed, and she reverted back to Tsukino Usagi. Mikuji then took out Tuxedo Kamen with more of her fortune telling sticks. and finished removing Rei's Pure Heart Crystal. She prepared to leave, but was hit by a World Shaking attack launched by Sailor Uranus, followed by a Deep Submerge from Sailor Neptune. The combined force of the attacks destroyed her, transforming her back into a tree and expelling the desiccated Daimon Egg. (090)
When she discovered that Professor Tomoe Souichi was growing tired of Eudial's failures and was considering her as a replacement, she took steps to engineer Eudial's downfall. (110) While Eudial was attempting to steal the talismans in the Marine Cathedral, Mimete sabotaged the brakes in her Station Wagon, leading to her erstwhile superior's death when she tried to escape the building. (111) With Eudial gone, the professor granted her old position to Mimete. Although the Holy Grail had appeared and was currently in the hands of Sailor Moon, it was still necessary to collect Pure Heart Crystals in order to unlock the powers of the Messiah of Silence. The professor produced a new series of cormorant-type Daimons, capable of sucking out a victim's Pure Heart Crystal, to act as Mimete's primary weapons. Mimete carried these Daimons to her targets in large metal suitcases. (112) She frequently emerged from the laboratory into various odd locations, such as a department store (112). Mimete experienced a crisis of loyalties when she entered the Heroine Audition to get close to her idol and target Araki Jinta. To her surprise, she was selected to compete in the final, and the prospect of winning and becoming an actress suddenly became a distinct possibility. Realising there was no way she could pursue her dream and remain a part of the Death Busters, she decided to abandon the evil syndicate. However, on the day of the contest, she failed to get the required number of votes. Furious, she revealed that she was actually one of the Death Busters, and unleashed a Daimon to steal Araki's Pure Heart Crystal. She was defeated by the Sailor Team and forced to flee, but a sympathetic Professor Tomoe assured her that there would be other chances for victory. (114) Although her victims were usually chosen on the basis of her latest obsession, Mimete had access to Eudial's target selection software, and could occasionally be persuaded to use it. She used it to locate Kurebayashi Yoshiki at the professor's request and, although she considered Chiba Mamoru to be a more worthy target, she attacked Kurebayashi out of a sense of duty. (116) Unfortunately, things continued to go wrong for Mimete, and with the need for Pure Heart Crystals still paramount, the professor cancelled Mimete's mission to attack Sergei Azimov, and transferred it to her colleague, Tellu, promising her the next executive seat if she succeeded. Thanks to a listening device planted in the professor's laboratory, Mimete discovered what was going on, and attempted to claw the mission back by telephoning Tellu with her voice disguised as the professor's, announcing that the mission had been called off. Mimete then sneaked into the Mugen Academy lecture theatre where Azimov was speaking, carrying a Daimon and the Witches Electric Warp created by Eudial. She attacked Azimov, and although her Daimon was ultimately beaten by Super Sailor Moon, she was able to activate the Electric Warp and transfer herself into the lecture theatre's monitor system. Now existing as a giant, projected image of herself, Mimete announced to the startled Sailor Team that her powers had now been boosted exponentially. Although her victory seemed inevitable, she was interrupted by the disgruntled Tellu, who reminded her colleague of the main flaw in the Electric Warp system: in the event of a power cut, the user would be unable to return to their original form. Despite Mimete's pleas, Tellu unplugged the monitors, trapping her rival forever in the electronic ether. (120) Daimons used by Mimete were: U-Estern (112), U-Henshuu (113), U-Tahime (114), U-Tomodachi (115), U-Baulla (116), U-Ndokai (117) and U-Chouten (119) and U-Pasokon. (120) She accidentally created U-Ikasaman while tampering with the Daimon production process, although never got to use her creation. (118)
The venue for Araki Jinta's Heroine Audition. During the competition, it was attacked by Mimete and U-Tahime. (114)
Mini SupercomputerAn item given to Sailor Mercury by Luna, which took the form of a small laptop computer. When transformed, Sailor Mercury was able to interact directly with the computer by means of the Mercury Goggles, which would display data concerning the location and weaknesses of enemies. (009, 013) During the battle with the DD Girls, Sailor Mercury used the computer to pinpoint the source of the Youma's illusory powers... then used the unit as a weapon to smash the tiara of the DD Girls' leader. (045)
A building that sold the materials for making Promise Rings, and also offered classes instructing customers in how to make them. Esmeraude discovered that the building was situated on a Negative Point, and used the roof as the root for a Dark Henge. Meanwhile, her Droid Udering infiltrated the business, disguising herself as a teacher in order to give students Promise Ring materials laced with Dark Power. The Promise Rings later began to drain energy from the students, expanding the Dark Henge. However, Sailor Moon traced the disturbances back to the building and killed Udering, also eliminating the Dark Henge and its effects. (077)
Misha
Misha was very impressed by the skating skills of Kino Makoto, and skated with her for some time. Although she was too heavy for him to lift, Makoto made up for it by lifting Misha, apparently the first time a female skater had lifted a man. Misha suspected that Makoto might have been Sailor Moon, but the attention he gave her made Janelyn jealous, and she announced that the lesson was cancelled. Misha persuaded Makoto to remain with him for a private lesson, but once the guests left and the shutters closed, they were both attacked by the furious Janelyn, who transformed into a Youma. Makoto was knocked away, but Misha joined Janelyn and transformed too, creating a pair of Youma who called themselves the Doringelars. They both went to attack Makoto again, but were confronted by Sailor Moon and Prince Endymion, who disapproved of their tactics. The rest of the Sailor Team joined the battle too, but the ice rink had been sabotaged by Kunzite, who attempted to freeze everyone to death, his Youma included. Endymion managed to undo the sabotage and Sailor Moon used Moon Healing Escalation to restore Misha and Janelyn's original selves. Once restored, they resolved to remain together. (039)
The newly awakened Mistress 9 had numerous magical abilities, including the power to reach through spatial portals with her hands. She used this power to bring Sailor Moon inside her fortress, the Omega Zone, in order to steal the Holy Grail. She took on Hotaru's original form in an effort to fool Sailor Moon, but she was not taken in by the deception. (124) When confronted by Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune, Mistress 9 was defended by Sailor Moon, intent on protecting Hotaru, although even Mistress 9 was convinced that Hotaru was dead. Mistress 9 responded to the attacks by strangling the two Sailor Senshi with her hair, embedding them into a statue. Unexpectedly, Professor Tomoe appeared, now free of Germatoid's possession. Although Mistress 9 rejected him as an empty shell, his presence appeared to reawaken Hotaru's personality, and Mistress 9 suddenly found herself being rejected from Hotaru's body. Believing that the Holy Grail could bring Hotaru back, Sailor Moon released it, but it was seized by the triumphant Mistress 9. She inserted it into a glass canister, its energy transferring to Pharaoh 90, who was now almost unstoppable. However, as Pharaoh 90 began to emerge from the dimensional rift, a blast of energy stuck Mistress 9. Although she was protected from its full force by Sailor Moon and Professor Tomoe, she realised to her horror that her master no longer saw any use for her. To make matters worse, Hotaru's personality began to surface again, briefly obtaining control over her body. Mistress 9 desperately struggled against the rejection, wrestling control back again. But Hotaru refused to give up, and finally eradicated Mistress 9's personality by awakening as Sailor Saturn. (125)
Mitsuami
Mitsuami's powers employed an array of hairdressing paraphernalia. She used a hairdryer to blast scorching hot air, fired sharp scissors at high speed, and wielded a giant electric razor as a weapon. Sailor Moon briefly gained the upper hand against her and prepared to attack, but she was interrupted by Tuxedo Kamen, who had been brainwashed by the Dark Kingdom. Sailor Moon escaped from Kariko's salon, but was pursued by Mitsuami and Tuxedo Kamen. Minako, still in the salon, summoned the rest of the Sailor Team to lend their assistance. Sailor Moon again found herself cornered by Mitsuami on the streets of Juuban, but was saved by the arrival of her colleagues. Mitsuami's oversized electric razor was destroyed when Sailor Mars and Sailor Jupiter combined their attacks, and Sailor Mercury was able to blind the Youma for long enough to allow Sailor Moon to perform Moon Healing Escalation. Mitsuami was destroyed, and replaced by Kariko and her colleagues. (036)
Mizuno Ami(Hisakawa Aya)
Background: Ami was in Class 5 of the eighth grade in Juuban Municipal Junior High School when she awoke as Sailor Mercury, shortly after coming top in the country in the National Mock Exams, an event that made the press. (008, 027) She lived with her mother, a doctor at Juuban Second General Hospital, in an apartment complex. (008, 115) Her IQ was reported to be 300, which generated some animosity amongst other students. Tsukino Usagi, however, decided to befriend Ami, partially out of goodwill, and partially out of a desire to learn the secret of her academic success. Luna initially suspected Ami of being a Youma, but those suspicions were cast aside when she awoke as Mercury at the Crystal Seminar during the battle with Garoben. (008) Character: Ami was generally meek and polite, and despite her massive intelligence appeared to suffer from an inferiority complex. As an academic, she often felt that studying was her only real talent. However, upon meeting the others she developed skills in many other areas, such as video games and dancing. (008, 037) She also proved adept at chess and swimming. (071, 097) Friendships: Ami often had to act as a mediator between the other members of the Sailor Team, particularly Usagi and the equally hot-tempered Hino Rei. (011) However, Ami treasured her friendship with the others, especially Usagi, who she felt was responsible for helping her overcome her shyness. (020) At one point Ami was supposed to move to Germany to study medicine, but eventually decided she valued her friends too much to leave them. (062) Romance: Ami was pragmatic when it came to romance, despairing slightly of the ease with which Usagi developed crushes. (010) Ami later had a flirtation of her own, with the clairvoyant Urawa Ryou. (027, 041) Future history: In the thirtieth century, Ami was known to reside in Crystal Tokyo, where she maintained her role as Sailor Mercury. (083)

Mizuno Ami Personal Information Taken from the first Sailor Moon Nakayoshi Guide
An improvised attack, similar to Moon Spiral Heart Attack, performed by Sailor Moon using the Spiral Heart Moon Rod. It consisted of a constant stream of hearts fired from the rod, and was used in an ultimately futile attempt to prevent Pharaoh 90 from reaching Earth. (125)
The third phrase used by Tsukino Usagi to transform into Sailor Moon. She began using this phrase after the damaged Crystal Star reformed into the Cosmic Heart Compact, enabling her to transform again. (091)
A command used by Sailor Moon to release energy from the Silver Crystal while it was inside the Crystal Star. The energy had a similar effect to the Moon Healing Escalation move she had previously performed with the Moon Stick. She used this manoeuvre in order to remove the Black Moon Clan's influence on Koan, Berthier, Calaveras and Petz. (070, 071, 072) Sailor Moon later used it in an unsuccessful bid to revive the frozen Neo Queen Serenity. (084) The command was almost successful in transforming Black Lady back into Chibi Usa, but Wiseman intervened before the process was completed. (085) Sailor Moon's second attempt at this was foiled by Black Lady herself. (086) The third attempt at using this move to heal Black Lady resulted in the awakening of Neo Queen Serenity in the future, and ultimately caused Sailor Moon to take on the form of the queen. As Serenity, she was successful in awakening Chibi Usa's dormant memories and restoring her to her original form. (088)
The second transformation phrase used by Tsukino Usagi to transform into Sailor Moon. She was taught the phrase by Queen Serenity, who gave her the Crystal Star transformation brooch required to use it. The transformation was driven by the Silver Crystal, which was inside the new brooch. (051) Sailor Moon lost this transformation after the Crystal Star was damaged by the Daimon Mikuji. (090) The brooch eventually reformed into the Cosmic Heart Compact, and Sailor Moon's transformation phrase became "Moon Cosmic Power, Make Up". (091)
Sailor Moon learnt the attack after being given the Moon Stick by Luna. The attack became necessary after Zoisite started using the Black Crystal to change ordinary humans into Youma, and it allowed Sailor Moon to restore the humans to their original state. (025) Later, Kunzite began brainwashing humans into becoming agents of the Dark Kingdom, giving them the ability to transform into Youma. From this point onwards, the attack served a dual purpose: to undo both the Youma transformation and the effects of the brainwashing. (036) The attack was also useful on non-Youma, as Sailor Moon discovered when she used it to release the Lake Monster from its ancient jealousy, (040) and later to temporarily release Chiba Mamoru from the Dark Kingdom's hypnosis. (041) Sailor Moon eventually used the attack to create an energy bubble that reflected Kunzite's attacks, ultimately leading to his death. (044) Sailor Moon lost the ability to perform this attack after the Moon Stick was lost in the destruction of the Dark Kingdom. (046)
Moon KingdomA generic term for Silver Millennium, the ancient lunar kingdom ruled by Queen Serenity. (035)
Moonlight CourseA skiing resort that held a Moon Princess Contest every year. Tsukino Usagi, Mizuno Ami, Hino Rei, Kino Makoto and Aino Minako visited the resort with Kumada Yuuichirou, unaware that the event had been hijacked by Kunzite in order to discover Sailor Moon's identity. (038)
Moonlight DensetsuA song that Osaka Naru and Tsukino Usagi practised singing with the intention of becoming celebrities. After parting due to creative differences, Naru enlisted a cross-dressing Umino Gurio to be her singing partner. The duo performed the song whilst under the influence of the Cinderella Caravan. (007) Usagi and Aino Minako led the children of Shiba Kindergarten in a rendition of this song during a bus journey. (051) Mysteriously, this tune was also played by the Orgel that Sailor Moon received from Tuxedo Kamen. (026) Moonlight Densetsu is, of course, the opening theme to the first four seasons of Sailor Moon.
The Moonlight Knight eventually revealed his true identity to Sailor Moon after Mamoru began to recover his memories. He explained that although Mamoru's memories of her had been erased after the final battle with the Dark Kingdom, his desire to help Sailor Moon remained, and was personified in the form of the Moonlight Knight. As Mamoru's memory came back, the Moonlight Knight merged back into his body. (059)
Moonlight LadyA CD released by Amade Yusuke shortly after his marriage to Yanagi Akiko. The release was dedicated to Sailor Moon, who had helped him when he was targeted by the Youma Kyurene. The cover bore a picture of Sailor Moon's silhouette, and the message “For the young lady fighting for justice”. (006)
Moon PowerThe incantation required for Tsukino Usagi to use the Disguise Pen. (003)
Moon PrincessThe mysterious figure for whom Luna and Artemis were searching when they first assembled the Sailor Team. (032, 033) Luna's amnesia following her hibernation meant that she had little idea who they were searching for beyond the fact that she was a princess, and that the Sailor Senshi were supposed to protect her. (001) Ironically, it was only when the princess actually did appear that Luna and Artemis' memories returned. The Moon Princess was, in reality, Princess Serenity, the previous incarnation of Sailor Moon. (034, 035)
Moon Princess ContestAn annual skiing competition held at the Moonlight Course resort. The contest demanded both speed and grace from its female participants. The first winner, Yamamoto Saeko, was called back to host the fourth competition, but was brainwashed by Kunzite and became an agent of the Dark Kingdom. The competition became a plan to ensnare Sailor Moon, who they assumed would win the competition. (038)
Moon Prism Power, Make UpThe first transformation phrase used by Tsukino Usagi to transform into Sailor Moon, and later the command used by Chibi Usa to transform into Sailor Chibi Moon. (001, 104) Usagi used the phrase in conjunction with her first Transformation Brooch, which she received from Luna. (001) She continued to use the incantation until her transformation brooch broke during a battle with a Cardian, at which point the spirit of Queen Serenity replaced the brooch with the Crystal Star. The phrase was then superseded by "Moon Crystal Power, Make Up". (051) Chibi Usa used the phrase along with the Pink Sugar Compact, her first transformation brooch. (104)

Moon Tiara Action
Shortly after Ail and An began attacking Juuban, Sailor Moon began to have difficulty using the tiara. During the battle with Hell Ant, the tiara stopped in mid-air, leaving Sailor Moon with no means of attack. (050) Her inability to use the attack was blamed on her reluctance to accept that she was a Sailor Senshi again, but the attack was soon replaced by Moon Princess Halation. (051) Some months later, Sailor Moon regained the ability to use Moon Tiara Action, and used it to free her friends from the Glycina. (SMR) The tiara could also be used for the similar Moon Tiara Stardust attack. (005)

A café frequented by the actor Kazama Yuu. Mimete found him in this café, then lured him to the park in order to steal his Pure Heart Crystal. (115)
A prestigious school, incorporating primary to university levels of education, established in the Tokyo bay area, near the Tenoh Sandbank, by Professor Tomoe Souichi. (120, 127) It was not widely known that the academy was actually set up as a cover for the activities of the Death Busters. Its students included Tenoh Haruka, Kaioh Michiru, Tomoe Hotaru and Tomomi (120) as well as the Death Busters operative Teruno Ruru (121) and Bidoh Yui. Within the academy, exceptionally intelligent students were often given teaching duties. (122) The academy once hosted a lecture by the noted physicist Sergei Azimov, although this was interrupted by the activities of Mimete. (120) Soon afterwards, Mugen hosted the national practice exams, and the large numbers of students were targeted, ultimately unsuccessfully, by Viluy. (122) The academy's own students were subjected to a similar ordeal shortly afterwards, when Cyprine drew them all to the school in a hypnotic trance and forced them to give up their Pure Heart Crystals to a statue of the Messiah of Silence. The process was reversed when Cyprine was killed, and the students escaped just before a large section of the school building was destroyed during the awakening of Mistress 9. (123) The ruins of the building subsequently became the Omega Zone, the defensive perimeter set up by Mistress 9 to prepare for Pharaoh 90's arrival. (124) The rest of the school was destroyed as Pharaoh 90 appeared on Earth. After the entity's demise, the ruins filled up with water from the bay. (125)
