TA AcademyThe school attended by Hino Rei, Ougi Sakurako and Junko. (017, 054) A Catholic all-girls' school, TA's most popular student was arguably Rei herself, who had a huge following of admirers. Each year, the school held the TA Culture Festival. (054) The school contained both a junior high school and a high school, meaning students did not have to pass entrance exams to graduate into high school. (106) The school had a large variety of clubs, including the Arts Club, Cinema Club, Fashion Designing Club, Flower Arrangement Club, Golf Lovers' Club, Japanese Dance Club and Tea Ceremony Club. (054)

TA Culture FestivalAn annual event held by the students of TA Academy. Hino Rei volunteered to lead the festival's executive committee on one occasion, although this was largely to promote the fact that she would be singing. Attractions at the festival included displays by the Arts Club, Cinema Club, Flower Arrangement Club, Golf Lovers' Club, Japanese Dance Club and Tea Ceremony Club, plus attractions such as the Feeling Couple compatibility test, a Homemade Cake Contest and a Puzzle Ring event. Prior to Rei's performance, the Fashion Designing Club put on their annual fashion show, entitled Aliens from Outer Space, in which Ginga Seijuurou and Ginga Natsumi had been persuaded to model. Rei's singing performance was interrupted by the Cardian Seiren, who took the energy of the audience. Following a battle with the Sailor Team, the creature was defeated, and the energy was returned to its hosts, allowing the concert to continue. Amongst the songs Rei performed were Hottokenai Yo and Eien no Melody. (054)
Tadashita Kazuko
During work on the movie, Kazuko noticed a sudden change in Hiromi's behaviour: this was actually due to the influence of Nephrite's Youma, Castor and Pollux. After Mizuno Ami came to the studio to return a folder dropped by Hiromi, Kazuko invited her to come back and visit. It was fortunate that Ami accepted, bringing Tsukino Usagi and Hino Rei with her, since Hiromi's energy peaked during the visit, releasing the Youma. After the battle, the friends discovered that they had both been secretly using the pencils, each concerned that the other was a far superior artist. (021) Tadashita Kazuko was named after Sailor Moon character designer Tadano Kazuko. A large Japanese drum, of which Tohno Maya was a skilled player. Hino Rei convinced Maya to beat the taiko at the Juuban Festival. (103)
Taiyan attacked Yamada Katsutoshi after forming, and removed his Pure Heart Crystal, but her real targets were Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune. Sailor Neptune soon appeared and returned Yamada's crystal to him, but Taiyan split in two and tied Sailor Neptune to a tree. Sailor Uranus and Sailor Moon tried to intervene, but were tied together with the Chain Beam and had to take shelter. The two Taiyans searched for them and eventually found them, but in the intervening time the Sailor Senshi had grown closer, and were more co-ordinated in the face of the Daimons' attacks. A second Chain Beam merely succeeded in destroying the first, releasing Sailor Moon and Sailor Uranus from their bonds. Sailor Uranus destroyed one of the Taiyans with her World Shaking attack, while Sailor Moon used Moon Spiral Heart Attack on the other. The defeated Daimon returned to the form of a motorbike, expelling the Daimon Egg. (098)

Three magical items sought by the Death Busters, and also Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune. (090) They took the forms of a sword, a mirror and an orb: the Space Sword, Deep Aqua Mirror and Garnet Orb respectively. (105, 110, 111) Talismans were said to be held within the Pure Hearts of exceptional individuals, and when all three talismans were brought together, the Holy Grail would appear. On the basis of this, the Death Busters began removing the Pure Heart Crystals of selected members of the public, in the hope of finding the talismans. Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune shadowed them, intending to intercept the talismans if and when they were found. (090) Sailor Uranus and Uranus hoped to use the talismans to find the Messiah, who they hoped would be able to prevent the Silence. (096) Eudial eventually determined that two of the talismans were unwittingly held by Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune, and lured them to the Marine Cathedral in order to steal them. She removed the Deep Aqua Mirror from Sailor Neptune, but was attacked by Tsukino Usagi and fell into a pit. Knowing that another talisman was within her, Sailor Uranus shot herself with Eudial's Capture Gun, removing the Space Sword from her body. (110) Eudial managed to steal both talismans, but they were taken from her by Sailor Pluto, who was already in possession of the Garnet Orb. Using her talisman, she separated Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune's Pure Heart Crystals from their talismans, reviving them. The three Sailor Senshi then took control of their respective talismans, triggering the formation of the Holy Grail. Sailor Moon used the Grail's power to defeat Eudial, although Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune were initially unconvinced that she was the Messiah. Meanwhile, they both kept their talismans for use against the enemy. (111)
Tamasaburou's tea ceremonies were frequented by Tenoh Haruka and Kaioh Michiru, who invited Tsukino Usagi, Chibi Usa and Chiba Mamoru to join them. Not realising it was to be a formal tea ceremony, they accepted. Usagi and Chibi Usa quickly became bored at the ceremony, but Chibi Usa was somewhat enamoured of Tamasaburou and was keen to impress him. Tamasaburou noticed their boredom and tried to relieve the stress of the ceremony by spinning an antique cup on a ladle. Surprised, Haruka and Michiru pointed out that the cup was worth ten million yen. Usagi tried to stop Tamasaburou, but tripped and caused him to drop the cup. Haruka, Michiru and Mamoru managed to catch it, but Chibi Usa later declared that she was thoroughly embarrassed by Usagi. Determined to become Tamasaburou's student, she decided to return to the tea house. Meanwhile, Tamasaburou was selected as a target by Eudial. She arrived at his tea house in her Station Wagon, demolishing part of the garden, and used her Capture Gun to remove his Pure Heart Crystal. Noticing the commotion, Chibi Usa transformed into Sailor Chibi Moon and confronted Eudial. Eudial responded by releasing her Daimon, Chagama. Chibi Usa grabbed Tamasaburou's Pure Heart Crystal, but was caught by the Daimon. She was released when Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune appeared and attacked the monster, ostensible to analyse Tamasaburou's Pure Heart Crystal. After ascertaining that it was not a talisman, they returned the crystal to him, and carried him to safety while Sailor Chibi Moon and Sailor Moon battled Chagama. In a semi-conscious state, Tamasaburou watched the Sailor Senshi defeat the monster. Tamasaburou later rationalised the incident as a dream, but the sight of the battle had a lasting effect on him. Putting on a sailor fuku, he declared himself to be Sailor Tamasaburou, and claimed that in this guise he would revolutionise the tea ceremony. Upon seeing his new attire, Haruka and Michiru quickly made their excuses and left. Usagi and Chibi Usa were similarly disturbed by Tamasaburou's new passion. (104)

A distant area of space, apparently in another dimension. Pharaoh 90, Mistress 9 and Germatoid all originated from the nebula. Mistress 9 and Germatoid crossed over from this area via a unit for performing genetic manipulations created by Professor Tomoe Souichi, then hijacked the bodies of Tomoe Hotaru and the professor, respectively. The possessed professor then established the Death Busters in order to arrange the passage of Pharaoh 90 from the Tau Nebula to Earth. (124) Bidoh Yui showed Mizuno Ami the nebula through a device in one of the Mugen Academy classrooms, supposedly a model universe made by the students. (122)
A ritual for the preparation and serving of tea. Tamasaburou was a master of the Yaburakoji Burakoji form of tea ceremony. Tenoh Haruka and Kaioh Michiru enjoyed the tea ceremony and often visited Tamasaburou. Due to a slight miscommunication, Tsukino Usagi, Chibi Usa and Chiba Mamoru also found themselves attending one of Tamasaburou's ceremonies. His skill in the tea ceremony led to him being targeted by Eudial of the Death Busters, but he was saved by the Sailor Senshi. However, the memory of his rescue had a lasting effect on Tamasaburou, and his subsequent plans to reform the tea ceremony in the guise of Sailor Tamasaburou were met with incredulity. (104)

Tellu was approached by Professor Tomoe Souichi after Mimete's repeated failures to steal Pure Heart Crystals, and assigned a mission to steal the Pure Heart Crystal of Sergei Azimov. By means of a listening device in the professor's laboratory, Mimete discovered this, and telephoned Mimete with her voice disguised as the professor's in an effort to convince her that the mission had been cancelled. While Mimete plotted to steal Azimov's Pure Heart Crystal in an effort to win back the professor's approval, Tellu was well aware of the deception. After Mimete used Eudial's Witches Electric Warp to transfer herself into Mugen Academy's monitor system, boosting her power many times over, Tellu stepped in and pointed out the device's weakness: if power was ever cut to the monitors, the user would be lost forever. Despite Mimete's pleas for mercy, Tellu unplugged the monitors, effectively killing her rival and leaving her as the most senior member of the Witches 5. (120) After this, Tellu contacted the professor with a new strategy for collecting Pure Heart Crystals. Instead of using Daimons, Tellu proposed the use of Telluns, a breed of plant she had created that was able to remove Pure Heart Crystals. The professor approved the idea, and Tellu began selling the plants from a store, Flower Shop Flower Teruno. Once she had distributed them around the city, Tellu sealed the entrances to her store, trapping the customers inside. She then incapacitated them with anaesthetic gas, and activated the Telluns, which forced out the customers' Pure Heart Crystals. Tellu collected the crystals in a small, star-shaped storage device, but was interrupted by Sailor Moon. Sailor Chibi Moon and Sailor Pluto. Her first attempt to attack them with Mandragora Buster was blocked by Sailor Chibi Moon's Pink Sugar Heart Attack, but on her second attempt, she succeeded in trapping Sailor Pluto. Tuxedo Kamen appeared and freed her, then Sailor Moon transformed into Super Sailor Moon and destroyed most of the Telluns using Rainbow Moon Heartache. One Tellun remained in Tellu's hands, however, and she injected it with a growth serum, causing it to grow rapidly into Hyper Tellun. Explaining that it would extract nearby Pure Heart Crystals and then self-destruct along with its victims, Tellu went to leave the shop, but was stopped by Tuxedo Kamen, who struck the device on her hand containing the Pure Heart Crystals she had collected. As the crystals surrounded her, the Hyper Tellun was attracted to her and bound her. Just as she had said, the giant plant self-destructed with her in its grip, killing her. (121)
Using her civilian identity, Teruno Ruru, Tellu established a shop to sell the plants, Flower Shop Flower Teruno. Once a large number had been distributed, she sealed the remaining customers in the store and activated the Telluns, removing her victims' Pure Heart Crystals. However, Meioh Setsuna had discovered the Telluns' secret after purchasing one, and had infiltrated the building along with Tsukino Usagi and Chibi Usa. Most of the Telluns in the store were destroyed by Super Sailor Moon's Rainbow Moon Heartache, although Tellu managed to protect one of them from harm. She injected this last Tellun with a growth serum, causing it to transform into a Hyper Tellun. This huge, self-destructing plant proved to be Tellu's downfall, however, as it mistakenly latched onto her and killed her along with itself. (121)

Background: Haruka was a frustrated teenager, plagued by visions of the apocalypse, which she tried to ignore by immersing herself in competitive sport. Amongst other achievements, Haruka became a champion sprinter and the first junior racer in Japan. During her time as a sprinter, Haruka encountered Elza Gray, a renowned track star who introduced her to Kaioh Michiru. Haruka was unnerved by Michiru, and it soon emerged that the girl was observing her. When Haruka confronted Michiru about this, Michiru revealed that she knew about her visions of the apocalypse, as she was experiencing them too. Haruka remained insistent that the visions were not her problem, but shortly afterwards, she was confronted with the sight of a boy being forcibly transformed into a Daimon. As the monster loomed over Haruka, a transformation pen, the Lip Rod, appeared before her. Haruka reached out to touch it, but was interrupted by Michiru, who entered the room and transformed into Sailor Neptune. She warned Haruka that accepting the pen would mean she would never be able to return to a normal life. The Daimon attacked, and Sailor Neptune protected Haruka, injuring herself in the process. Although she managed to defeat the Daimon, Haruka decided to join her, and accepted the Lip Rod, marking the beginning of her life as Sailor Uranus. (106) As a tenth-grade high school student, Haruka first encountered Tsukino Usagi and her friends in the Crown Game Centre. Initially mistaken for an attractive boy, Haruka surprised everyone when she was later revealed to be female. (092) Character: Though polite and sophisticated, Haruka also enjoyed flirting with cute girls. Haruka dreamed of being a racing driver, but said she had given up on the dream in order to focus on her mission. (092) She owned a Yamaha TZR 250 motorbike and a rare Toyota 2000GT sports car. Still technically too young to drive in Japan, she claimed to have obtained a driving license abroad. (096) Haruka sometimes competed in Motocross events, and on one occasion beat Yamada Katsutoshi. (098) She was also a talented pianist, and occasionally performed alongside Michiru. (108) Friendships: Haruka quickly became acquainted with Usagi and her friends. She was a long term friend of Kameda. (092) While she disapproved of the risks that Usagi was prepared to take in the name of idealism, she and Michiru eventually came to an understanding with her. (126) Romance: Despite her penchant for flirting with cute girls, Haruka remained close to Kaioh Michiru, initially describing her as "more important than a lover" - although for a while, she denied they were in a relationship. (092) This seemed to change after an incident in which they were briefly reacquainted with Elza Gray, and from this point on their relationship became unambiguously romantic in nature. (106)

Kaolinite inserted Toden's Daimin Egg into a Tokyo train in order to check the passengers for Pure Hearts. Eventually, Kumada Yuuichirou was detected, and the train transformed into Toden, who removed his Pure Heart Crystal. The Daimon was then confronted by Sailor Mars and the rest of the Sailor Team. She managed to overpower them for a while, simply absorbing Sailor Jupiter's Sparkling Wide Pressure. However, Sailor Mars brought her to a stop using Aku Ryo Tai San, and then set her on fire with Burning Mandala. Toden was then unable to defend herself against Sailor Moon's use of Moon Spiral Heart Attack, which transformed her back into a train, expelling the Daimon Egg. (099)
Maya was approached by Hino Rei on behalf of the Juuban Festival Entertainment Committee, and was asked to perform at the Juuban Festival. Although their meeting went badly, Maya agreed to perform. At the festival, Rei expressed her admiration for Maya, who was practicing hard despite the fact that she was only performing as a favour. However, Maya had been targeted by Eudial, who arrived unceremoniously at the festival in her Station Wagon and broadcast an announcement for Maya, drawing her out into the open. Eudial then shot Maya with her Capture Gun, removing her Pure Heart Crystal. Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune intercepted the crystal and, after determining that it was not a talisman, returned it to Maya. Eudial retreated, and Maya recovered quickly enough to do her performance as planned. (103)

When Tsukino Usagi and Aino Minako visited the salon, the steamers gave a positive result upon testing Minako's hair. In reality, this was caused by a stray hair of Usagi's finding its way onto Minako's head, but Kariko attacked the unwitting Minako, believing her to be Sailor Moon. Meanwhile, the salon assistants incapacitated the rest of the customers with a noxious hairspray, but Usagi managed to escape its influence. Frustrated with Minako's refusal to hand over the Silver Crystal, Kariko merged with her assistants to become the Youma Mitsuami. Usagi transformed to fight the monster, and after a battle that took them out onto the streets of Juuban, she returned Kariko and her assistants back to their former selves with Moon Healing Escalation. Shortly afterwards, Kariko returned to work at her salon, apparently none the worse after her ordeal. (036) For reasons best known to herself, Kariko writes her name in the Western order, ie surname last.

Background: Hotaru was the only child of Professor Tomoe Souichi, and lived with him in a large mansion. (112) Her mother had died some years previously. (113) When she was nine years old, Hotaru was involved in a devastating explosion at her father's genetic engineering laboratory. The blast killed her, but Germatoid, the entity that caused the blast offered her father the chance to make her live again. When he accepted, they were both possessed. Her father's personality was completely overpowered by Germatoid (although he maintained an air of normality when speaking with Hotaru and members of the public) while Hotaru emerged apparently unchanged, but as the unwitting host to the Messiah of Silence, Mistress 9. (120, 123, 124) In the subsequent years, Hotaru was not aware that her beloved father was the scientific mastermind behind the Death Busters, nor did she realise that she was being used as a vessel for the Messiah of Silence. (112) Kaori now acted as a stepmother of sorts to Hotaru, much to her annoyance. (113) Hotaru's health was constantly failing, and she was plagued by painful seizures. She also had a supernatural ability to heal injuries almost instantly by touching them, but this remarkable power made other children afraid of her. (112) After witnessing her incredible powers, Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune and Sailor Pluto realised that Hotaru was the reincarnation of Sailor Saturn, whose awakening would lead to the devastation of Earth. Seeing no other option, the three Sailor Senshi attempted to kill her before she could awaken. Super Sailor Moon and Chibi Usa tried to protect her, but this was unnecessary: with her powers flaring up, Hotaru was immune to their attacks. In a semi-conscious state, she disappeared and re-materialised in her house. (119) Shortly after this, she was moved from her house by her father in an effort to evade the Sailor Senshi. (120) Although by now the Messiah of Silence was largely in control of her body, Hotaru's personality suddenly resurfaced whilst in the chambers of her evil alter ego. Confused, she made her way outside and managed to meet Chibi Usa, before she was recaptured by Kaolinite. (121) Chibi Usa's Pure Heart Crystal was ultimately used to fully awaken Mistress 9. At this point, the evil entity became the dominant force in Hotaru's body, which aged several years in the space of a few seconds. (123) Nevertheless, Hotaru's personality was not completely overwhelmed, and made repeated attempts to resurface. (124) Even after Mistress 9 thought Hotaru's essence had died, she kept returning, to the point of rejecting the evil being from her body. When Mistress 9 was caught in an energy blast from Pharaoh 90, Hotaru's personality fully surfaced. Mistress 9 attempted to retaliate, but Hotaru destroyed her forever by awakening as Sailor Saturn. She immediately returned Chibi Usa's Pure Heart Crystal, then returned to the ruins of Mugen Academy, where Pharaoh 90 had just arrived on Earth. Announcing that she was the only one who could destroy the creature - albeit at the cost of her own life - she jumped into Pharaoh 90's core. Sailor Moon used the combined power of her companions to transform into Super Sailor Moon, and went in after Sailor Saturn. As Pharaoh 90 was destroyed, Super Sailor Moon reappeared holding Hotaru, now reincarnated as a newborn baby. (125) The baby was cared for briefly by Tenoh Haruka and Kaioh Michiru, then returned to her father, who was recovering in hospital. (126) Character: Hotaru was exceptionally meek, and due to rejection by her peers suffered from low self esteem. Despite this, she was very approachable and was quick to befriend Chibi Usa when the two first met. (112) Her personality was sometimes influenced by that of the Messiah of Silence, whose essence would surface occasionally, particularly during seizures. Although she had no memory of these incidents and was at a loss to explain them, she knew that some dormant element within her was capable of extreme violence, and was afraid to get too close to others in case she hurt them. (115) Hotaru enjoyed collecting lamps, and her bedroom was filled with them. (113) Her favourite card game was Memory, although she often played Babanuki with Chibi Usa. Despite her lack of confidence with the latter game, she was able to beat the Daimon U-Ikasaman at it while trapped in her multi-dimensional domain. (118) Friendships: Hotaru's only notable friendship was with Chibi Usa. They met after she retrieved Chibi Usa's hat, which had blown away during a visit to Juuban Natural Park. The friendship was cemented after Chibi Usa was injured protecting her from a Daimon, and Hotaru revealed her healing powers to repay her. (112) Hotaru later experienced a bad seizure, during which she unconsciously attacked the Daimon U-Tomodachi. Fearing that she might also unwittingly harm Chibi Usa, she told her friend to keep away from her. (115) Chibi Usa later persuaded her to come on a picnic, and despite the fact that her powers occasionally surfaced, they remained close. (116) Romance: Hotaru had a crush on the track athlete and High Jump record-holder Hayase Shun. With the help of Tsukino Usagi and Chibi Usa, she managed to meet her idol. (117) Hotaru is first seen fleetingly in Episode 111, but she is not identified until the following episode.

Tomoe Hotaru Personal Information Taken from the second Sailor Moon S Nakayoshi Guide
A respected figure in the field of genetic engineering, Tomoe had one daughter, Tomoe Hotaru. (112, 120) In his youth, Tomoe composed the orchestral piece Hope for the Future. (108) During his work at a genetics laboratory, Tomoe developed a unique sealed space for conducting sensitive genetic manipulations. Unexpectedly, the device was used as a dimensional portal by a mysterious entity, Germatoid, leading to a massive explosion. The blast injured Tomoe and killed the nine year old Hotaru, who had been visiting the lab. From the dimensional rift, the creature spoke to Tomoe, offering to restore Hotaru's life if certain conditions were met. Tomoe agreed immediately, and Germatoid announced he was taking control of both of their bodies. (120, 124) While the entity residing in Hotaru was largely dormant, Tomoe became completely controlled by Germatoid. He set up the Death Busters and Mugen Academy, then began the search for the talismans. (120, 124) Displaying character traits that were at best eccentric, and more usually indicative of utter insanity, the new Tomoe was not above joining his subordinates for a game of Twister. (117) He enjoyed coffee, which he made over a Bunsen burner in his underground laboratory. (113) Tomoe was responsible for creating and perfecting Daimon Eggs. He was assisted by Kaolinite, who oversaw the resultant Daimons and was charged with bringing back stolen Pure Heart Crystals for analysis. (090) After numerous failures at the hands of the Sailor Senshi, Tomoe became angry with his assistant, prompting her to take a more active role in the collection process. (095) Kaolinite continued to fail, however, but eventually claimed to have found a definite owner of a talisman in the form of Tsukino Usagi. Convinced by Kaolinite's enthusiasm, Tomoe provided her with his strongest Daimon Egg yet. (101) The plan proved unsuccessful: Usagi did not possess a talisman, and Kaolinite's subsequent confrontation with the Sailor Senshi on Tokyo Tower led to her falling to her death. Upon hearing of this, the Professor decided to accept assistance from the Witches 5, and appointed Eudial as Kaolinite's successor. (102, 103) Based on Eudial's suggestions, Tomoe radically altered the way in which Daimons were created, fully automating the process. (103) During this time, Tomoe succeeded in resurrecting Kaolinite, who now took on the name Kaori and began work as the professor's secretary. (121) Eventually he grew tired of Eudial's failure to find the talismans and discreetly approached Eudial's colleague, Mimete, with a view to promoting her. (110) After Eudial was killed and the Sailor Senshi gained possession of the Holy Grail, Tomoe remained unconcerned, reasoning that if they were truly capable of harnessing the Grail's power, they would have already used it to destroy the Death Busters. Instead, he turned his attention to finding someone with enough power to use the Grail for the Death Busters' interests. (111) However, the professor was convinced that the Messiah of Silence, an entity who shared the body of his daughter, would be able to use the Grail on behalf of the Death Busters. In order to grant her enough energy to use the Grail, the professor sent Mimete to collect more Pure Heart Crystals with the help of a new series of Daimons. (112) Although he was sometimes concerned that Mimete was more interested in her hobbies than her work, he was quite fond of her and generally tolerant of her failures. (114) On one occasion, he was temporarily locked out of his house after Mimete overloaded the Daimon oven and created a dimensional rift in the building. He was forced to rely on the Sailor Team to restore the space and rescue Hotaru. (118) Around this time, he became aware that his daughter was actually the reincarnation of Sailor Saturn, and thus the perfect avatar for the Messiah of Silence. (119) Aware that the other Sailor Senshi also now knew Hotaru's secret, Tomoe evacuated his house, although his secret underground laboratory remained in use. He also decided to approach Tellu in the hope that she would be more effective at Pure Heart Crystal gathering. This triggered a power struggle within the Witches 5, ultimately leading to the death of Mimete at Tellu's hands. (120) Tomoe assigned operational duties to Tellu as he had promised, but she soon perished at the hands of her own creation, the Hyper Tellun. Meanwhile, he instructed Kaolinite to return to active duty, quite unaware (or more likely uncaring) of the romantic feelings she harboured for him. (121)He and Kaolinite relocated to his office in Mugen Academy, while Viluy attempted to gather Pure Heart Crystals from visiting students. Her plan failed and she was killed, but in the process, Tomoe discovered the identities of some of the Sailor Senshi. (122) The last of the Witches 5, Cyprine, also failed in her bid to collect a large number of Pure Heart Crystals, but it ultimately made no difference, as Kaolinite managed to abduct Chibi Usa, whose crystal was enough to revive the Messiah of Silence, who took on the form of Mistress 9. The professor seemed not to care that Kaolinite was killed during Mistress 9's awakening. (123) Mistress 9 established a protective force field around the ruins of Mugen Academy, but Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune managed to penetrate it. Tomoe was ordered to stop them. Confronting the Sailor Senshi, Germatoid announced that Tomoe was simply a vessel, and left the scientist's body, preferring to fight via an army of near-invincible puppets. Thanks to their talismans, Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune ultimately triumphed over Germatoid's avatars, killing the Daimon once and for all. Meanwhile, Tomoe, finally free from Germatoid's possession, called out for his daughter. (124) Horrified at the consequences of his bargaining with the Daimon, Tomoe returned to his daughter, who was still possessed by Mistress 9. However, his presence seemed to spur Hotaru on to regain control of her body. Eventually, after Mistress 9 was hit by an energy blast from Pharaoh 90, Hotaru fully regained control by awakening as Sailor Saturn. Transformation BroochThe item used by Tsukino Usagi to transform into Sailor Moon. The original brooch was given to her by Luna and required the phrase "Moon Prism Power, Make Up", to activate it. (001) The brooch served Usagi throughout the battle with the Dark Kingdom, but when she was reawakened to fight Ail and An, her powers began to falter. This was apparently due to her reluctance to commit to the life of a Sailor Senshi again, and in the middle of a battle with the Cardian Reci, the brooch shattered, and her transformation failed. Usagi found herself dragged into an energy well by the Cardian, but entered a dreamlike state in which Queen Serenity repaired the brooch, fusing it with the Silver Crystal to create the Crystal Star. With the new brooch, Usagi was able to transform with the phrase "Moon Crystal Power, Make Up" and return to the battle. (051)

Tsukino Usagi(Mitsuishi Kotono)
Background: The eldest child of Tsukino Kenji and Tsukino Ikuko, and older sister to Tsukino Shingo. Usagi was an underachieving student in Class 1 of Juuban Municipal Junior High School, content to simply hang around with her friends Osaka Naru and Umino Gurio and to daydream about arcade worker Furuhata Motoki. (001, 002) However, upon encountering the guardian cat Luna, she was informed that she was Sailor Moon, destined to assist Luna in the search for the Moon Princess and the other Sailor Senshi. After transforming for the first time, she discovered that Naru was in danger from the Youma Morga, and intervened to kill the monster. During the battle she encountered Tuxedo Kamen and was immediately smitten. (001) Character: Usagi's character was dominated by fleeting obsessions, intense crushes and a sincere determination to do as little work as possible. (001, 007) She was capable of dispensing good and sensible advice on occasion, but this usually provoked surprise and confusion from those around her. (013) Usagi cared a great deal for her friends and would go to great lengths to help them, even if these efforts weren't always appreciated. (026, 030) Friendships: Usagi made friends easily, and was often more prepared than others to befriend the outcasts of her school. Already a friend of Osaka Naru and Umino Gurio, he developed a friendship with Mizuno Ami, initially with ulterior motives, but quickly enjoying her company. (008) She was one of the few students not to be afraid of Kino Makoto after she transferred to Juuban Junior High, having seen her true nature. They too developed a friendship based largely on their shared academic ineptitude, (025, 027) She was also far closer than she would initially admit to Hino Rei, their constant sniping at each other merely a veil obscuring mutual respect. (010, 030) Romance: Usagi fell in love easily, and for a long time was obsessed with Furuhata Motoki. Her first meeting with Tuxedo Kamen brought about her second major crush. Ironically, she hated Chiba Mamoru, Tuxedo Kamen's alter ego. (001, 002) This resentment softened somewhat shortly before Mamoru was kidnapped by the Dark Kingdom and Usagi discovered his true identity. (034, 035) With the memories of her past life now restored, by the time of the final battle with the Dark Kingdom Usagi's feelings towards Mamoru had turned into love. Ironically, they both lost their memory after Usagi defeated Queen Metalia. (046) Usagi recovered her memory thanks to Luna, but Mamoru's memory was not restored. Thus, Mamoru was baffled by the sudden fondness Usagi had developed for him, and despite her best efforts she could not trigger his memories. Meanwhile, Usagi also had to contend with the affections of Ginga Seijuurou, who dramatically declared his love for her. (049) During her final encounter with the enraged Makaiju, she finally managed to trigger Mamoru's dormant memories, and the destined couple were reunited. (059) Usagi and Mamoru quickly began a relationship, but this was interrupted by the arrival of Chibi Usa. (060) Shortly after her arrival, Mamoru inexplicably demanded a break-up, insisting that he never loved Usagi, and that he hated weak girls. Usagi was left devastated and confused by this development. (061) After a while, Usagi had a disturbing dream in which she was separated from Mamoru, a voice telling Mamoru to stay away from her or she would be killed. Realising that this dream was the reason for Mamoru's coldness, Usagi confronted him and eventually they became close again. (077) The source of the dreams was later revealed to be King Endymion, Mamoru's future self, who was testing the strength of the couple's relationship in light of the challenges ahead. (083) Future history: In the thirtieth century, Usagi awoke as Neo Queen Serenity and used the Silver Crystal to heal the Earth, which had been frozen for centuries due to a natural disaster. The city of Crystal Tokyo was established and Serenity became the ruler of Earth. She married Mamoru, now King Endymion, and later gave birth to Chibi Usa. (083)

Tsukino Usagi Personal Information Taken from the first Sailor Moon Nakayoshi Guide
The real name of Chibi Usa. (060) For more information, see the Chibi Usa entry.
Masanori attended classes at Juuban Art School, where he drew the attention of Chibi Usa. However, he had a crush on Kaioh Michiru, who supervised the classes, and gave her a bunch of roses as a token of his love. Masanori became a target of the Death Busters, prompting Eudial to attack the art school. She drove her Station Wagon through the front window, and removed Masanori's Pure Heart Crystal with her Capture Gun. Unable to transform in front of Eudial, Chibi Usa charged forward and bit her on the arm, snatching the crystal back. It was briefly taken by Sailor Uranus, who determined that it was not a talisman, and then returned it. As Eudial left and her Daimon, Chokokkar, challenged the Sailor Senshi, Chibi Usa placed Masanori's head on a pillow before leaving to transform. Masanori, in his semi-conscious state, decided that Chibi Usa was his angel. After he recovered, his affection towards her remained, and he made a sculpture of her as a present for her. (107) Tsuzuki Masanori is named after a character in one of Naoko Takeuchi's other mangas, The Cherry Project.
A garage run by Kameda, where he indulged his love of motor vehicles and honed his engineering skills. Tenoh Haruka was a regular visitor to the business. On one occasion, the premises were infiltrated by a Daimon Egg, which fused with a Eunos Roadster Kameda was working on and became the Daimon Steering. The monster trapped Kameda on four jacks and removed his Pure Heart Crystal, leaving the building quickly. The Daimon was later defeated by Sailor Moon, and Kameda's crystal was returned. (092)
Tuxedo Kamen
The black-clad, rose throwing alter ego of Chiba Mamoru, who often appeared during battles as an ally of the Sailor Senshi. (001, 019) Initially, Tuxedo Kamen was unaware of his other self, not certain who or what he was. He was motivated by two objectives: to help Sailor Moon when she was in danger, and later, to find the Silver Crystal. (019, 022) He only reconciled his two identities after capturing the Orange Rainbow Crystal. At this time, his allegiances were decidedly unclear, as he was in direct competition with both the Sailor Senshi and the Dark Kingdom for possession of the Rainbow Crystals. (026) Mysteriously, Tuxedo Kamen possessed an Orgel which was identical to one given to him in his previous life by Princess Serenity. He lost it during a battle, and it was picked up by Sailor Moon. He later told Sailor Moon to look after it for the time being. (026, 028) His identity was finally revealed to Sailor Moon at the Star Light Tower, when the Dark Kingdom blackmailed him into handing over the Rainbow Crystals he had collected. Shortly afterwards, Tuxedo Kamen was mortally wounded by a vengeful Zoisite. Sailor Moon's horror at witnessing this event triggered the reconstitution of the Silver Crystal, and the return of the memories of their past lives in the Silver Millennium. Tuxedo Kamen then lost consciousness, and was taken back to the Dark Kingdom by Kunzite. There, Queen Metalia instructed Queen Beryl to revive him. (034, 035) Once the process was complete, Tuxedo Kamen became a brainwashed agent of the Dark Kingdom. Now believing himself to be Prince Endymion, he was sent to fight against the Sailor Senshi. (036) After a mission to reunite the seven former Rainbow Crystal holders failed, Endymion was cornered by Sailor Moon, who used Moon Healing Escalation to restore Mamoru's original personality. However, no sooner had he come to his senses than he was recaptured by the Dark Kingdom, and the process of brainwashing was resumed. (041) The newly-brainwashed Endymion next encountered Sailor Moon during her final attack on the Dark Kingdom. Beryl commanded Endymion to kill her, but his humanity was eventually restored by hearing the Orgel that he had been given by Serenity in his last incarnation. He turned on Beryl, but was killed fighting her. After Sailor Moon defeated Beryl and Metalia, Chiba Mamoru was restored to life and resumed his old existence, with no memory of his time as Tuxedo Kamen. (046) The Sailor Team soon had their memories returned to them, but Mamoru's remained repressed. During that time, his desire to protect Sailor Moon unconsciously manifested itself in the form of the Moonlight Knight, a spectral entity who was physically separate from Mamoru's body. After Sailor Moon triggered Mamoru's memories during the final battle with Ail and An, the two halves of his consciousness were reunited. (059) Soon after this, Tuxedo Kamen made his first appearance in a long time, arriving at the Hikawa Shrine to help Sailor Moon protect Chibi Usa from Koan. (060) Tuxedo Kamen was later instrumental in restoring Sailor Moon's ability to transform: their love allowed the damaged Crystal Star brooch to morph into the Cosmic Heart Compact, returning Sailor Moon's powers to her. (091) During a fight with the Daimon Cenicienta, Tuxedo Kamen was encased in glass and taken hostage by Kaolinite. (101) He was later released after Sailor Moon defeated Cenicienta, causing the glass around him to disintegrate. (102)
Tuxedo Umino Kamen
TV AshitaA Tokyo-based television company and the owners of Channel 9. Shiratori Mikan did an autograph session outside the company’s studios to publicise her new series, Jan, Ken, Pon. (007) The company later began work on another vehicle for Mikan: a drama series. Talent scouts were sent out to find candidates for the role of her little sister, and they returned with photographs of Mizuno Ami, Hino Rei, Kino Makoto, Aino Minako and Osaka Naru. The initial casting meeting was, however, spied on by Ail and An, who incapacitated the producers and used the audition as a trap to ensnare the would-be actresses and steal their energy. This did not go to plan, however, as Ami, Rei, Makoto and Minako reawakened as Sailor Senshi after being confronted by the Cardian Minotauron, and went on to foil their plan. However, An did manage to drain the energy of Mikan herself, and the idol's resultant exhaustion led to the proposed series being cancelled. (048)
